My Top 5 Favorite, and Most Misunderstood Movies of My Childhood

I recently watched the psychological thriller Fight Club on a lazy afternoon when it came on TV.  I hadn’t seen the movie in its entirety since sometime around its original release.  Now that I do the math, I realize that release was more than a decade ago.  I do remember really liking Fight Club and don’t really remember knowing why.  Although it is true that after ten years it is possible to forget some plots and themes, this was really more than just a hazy recollection. I didn’t know what the hell was going on.  I present to you my top 5 favorite movies from my childhood:

1) Fight Club (1999)

Fight Club was nominated for a slew of awards, including an Oscar and an MTV Movie Award.  The movie was wildly popular and quickly established itself as a distinct and strange part of our pop culture. Continue reading
